Celebrating 2020’s Season Sensation

Every year, members of the Freelance Hairdressers’ Association get together before Christmas for Season Sensation; an annual day of inspiration, education and festive fun to get us all ready for the busy season.

This year’s event might have been held online, but it was no less exciting – and thanks to sponsors Wella and Nioxin, it was free for all memebers.

The day started with two colour demonstrations from Wella Technicians Nadine and Eryka. Eryka demonstrated an on-trend technique for colour placement using Blondor Plex , including a root melt technique and colour recipe. There were also some great tips on body posture and looking after our backs – essential for us all in the industry.

Nadine then demonstrated a beautiful freehand balayage technique using Wella Freelights. The technique was a real time-saver with lovely results.

Next, we heard from Nioxin with a presentation from Cleo and Cormac. Nioxin is a range of products that are specially formulated for thinning hair to promote thicker, fuller-looking hair.

Cleo and Cormac presented a session on nutrition for the hair, which was a really informative and enjoyable presentation of foods that boost hair growth. Self care is essential for us all and our nutrition is a huge part of it. Having this knowledge is not only useful for us personally, but also as a value-added advice service for our clients.

The session ended with party styling tips and techniques, including advice for creating the kind of beautiful waves that cients love.
