L’Oréal Professional Introduces Hairstylists for the Future

L’Oréal are supporting stylists to take sustainable steps forward and have a greater positive impact on the environment through the launch of their Hairstylists for the Future program. L’Oréal began their sustainability journey more than 40 years ago, and since then they have reached many positive milestones, including an 81% reduction of CO2 emissions and a 49% reduction in water consumption in their plants and distribution centres since 2005, and with 95% of L’Oréal’s Professional Products manufactured in Europe biw being produced in water loop plants – but there is still so much more to do. In 2020 they began the next phase of their journey with the launch of L’Oréal For The Future, outlining big commitments towards 2030 that not only address L’Oréal’s direct impact on the environment, but that of their suppliers and consumers too. As part of these next steps, L’Oréal Professional Products has launched Hairstylists for the Future, a dedicated programme to support stylists on their own sustainability journey across three guiding principles: Preserving Natural Resources, Managing Water Sustainably and Fighting Climate Change. To fully support stylists to embark on this journey, L’Oréal Professional Products provide complimentary toolkits and videos on their 24/7 online education platform L’Oréal Access, and have also partnered with waste management company Green Salon Collective, who are changing the way the hair industry recycles its waste.
