SO WHAT DID WE ACTUALLY DO?
Well, we pretty much embraced all of the online options!
Tuesdays were our Q&A sessions with Julie Dowen, Sarah Satchel and Sheila Abrahams. We had record numbers ‘Zooming’ in and we have tackled so many subjects including colour correction, pricing, going back to work, skin tests, Colourstart patches, virtual consultations, retailing and even ‘Through the Keyhole’ style peeks into our members’ home studios – all with fun and good humour throughout.
We will never forget our amazing Wobble Week where we all came together, helping one another to get through scary times. We have learned how to draw on our strength and confidence to go out working again; this time, fully confident in knowing our worth. Clients have really missed us, and it’s time to make them beautiful again.
On Wednesdays and Thursdays, we had guests from all areas of the industry visiting to share their expertise. Jo Irving gave us two sessions with tips on how to up our game as we revamped our professional businesses. We now have exclusive discounts on even more products, including antibacterial products from Saloncide Solutions. Spencer Dudman gave education on protecting our scissors, and a discounted service for the future, and we now have discounted wholesale shopping online with Coolblades to be added to the list. We also looked at mindfulness, social media, time management and pricing calculators.
We had conversations with Dom Lehane from How to Cut It, Edward Hemmings from Alan d Education, Andrew Barton, Debbie G and John Huscroft – who was a super surprise guest! Jez Barnett came along to chat and to demo KeraStraight with a fab product discount. Anne Veck delighted us with an inspirational demo, Patrick Cameron stopped by for a chat, Ky Wilson wowed us with his energy and interesting career. Jasmin Gupta shared her story of how she set up her Cancer Hair Care charity and Carolyn Newman shared her thoughts and plans for future training – and at the time of writing we still have more to come, including Kristina Gasperas and Desmond Murray!
