Public & Product Liability Insurance FAQ’s

A. You may join with current valid insurance. We will require details of your policy with expiry date. When your insurance expires during your FHA membership contact us at: enquiries@thefha.org.uk or call 01582 431783 and you will be insured immediately.

A. It means you will have the full support of the FHA and its many benefits plus Public & Products Liability insurance that is suited for your industry.

A. As soon as you join online your insurance is valid with immediate effect (subject to us receiving confirmation of your qualifications and that you continue to pay your subscription which are conditions of your membership).

A. Cancellation of your membership will result in the insurance cover being cancelled with immediate effect.

A. You will have Public & Product Liability insurance cover up to £2 million. Subject to a £250 excess.  This covers you for any one occurrence up to the Limit Indemnity against legal liability for damages in respect of accidental Injury or accidental loss of or damage to property to a third party excluding any property being worked upon. Product Liability covers you for loss of or damage to any product supplied caused by any defect or the harmful nature or unsuitability of the product. Excluding any preparation or other goods manufactured or made up to the Insured Person’s formula

A. Yes barbering is covered in the policy. Subject to a sterilisation warranty: It is a condition of this policy that any razor or clipper blades steel combs or any item which could pierce the skin whilst in use must be brand new or thoroughly sterilised.

A. Yes. FHA insurance covers a member with FHA insurance to allow the use of their premises to another FHA member.

A. As the master policy holder the FHA will give you more information on what to do if you have a complaint.

Here is a list of activities that are not covered under policy: Piercing, tattooing, sunbeds, permanent or semi-permanent make-up and any type of surgical procedure.
