WHAT ARE THE FHA FREELANCE AWARDS?

Who is eligible?

You are! This competition is open to every freelance/self-employed, insured hairdresser in the UK. Non-members Welcome.

Easy to Enter

Our mentors are here to guide and prepare you for your journey through the Awards should you need it. You can email enquiries@thefha.org.uk, with the subject line “FHA Freelance Awards” to get assistance. Otherwise Entering is as easy as taking a few photos, writing a little about yourself and your work and filling out a form, Become an entrant in less than 10 minutes.

These Terms & Conditions apply to all categories of the FHA Freelance Awards 2026.

1. Awards are open to freelance, independent, or self-employed hairdressers based in the UK and Ireland.
2. Entry is free.
3. One entry per category per person. Entrants may submit entries for multiple categories, but each entry must be a separate submission.
4. Only fully completed entry forms and required media will be accepted.
5. Entries must be submitted by the deadline at 23:59, 31st March 2026.
   Late entries will not be considered.
6. All work submitted must be the entrant’s own
7. Videos must be a maximum of 90 seconds. Word limits (where stated) must be strictly observed; judges may disregard any text over the limit.
8. Videos can be filmed on phones; production quality is not a judging criterion, but clarity, lighting and visibility are essential. Portrait format is encouraged.
9. Light editing (brightness / contrast / cropping) is acceptable. Heavy filters, AI-generated content is prohibited.
10. No responsibility is accepted for entries not received for any reason.
11. Judges assess entries independently against the criteria.
12. The FHA reserves the right to amend, withdraw or cancel any category or the awards timetable if necessary.
13. If shortlisted you must be able to attend the Inspire! event on the 28th June 2026.
