Industry Skin Test Protocol

Allergy Alert Test

The industry Allergy Alert Test protocol for skin testing states;

  • A skin test must be done on every client, following manufacturer’s instructions, once a year providing there is no change in the colour or product range.
  • A skin test must be repeated for the client, following manufacturer’s instructions, if there is a change in the chosen colour or product range.
  • The skin test results must be kept on file for six years to comply with FHA insurance.

To help you with recording your annual/repeat skin test/s required for insurance purposes we have the FHA Allergy Alert Consultation and Colour Record Card.

Using the Allergy Alert Consultation and Colour Record Card

To use the consultation card for the first time or regular annual test use the questions in the left hand column Initial Allergy Alert Test. On following colour appointments use the questions in the middle column, Repeat Allergy Alert Test. This will ensure you are aware of any changes in your clients situation that affect your decision to proceed with their colour application. Your results can be recorded in the right hand column.

Results must be kept on file for 6 years.

Please note that use of the FHA Allergy Alert Consultation and Colour Record Card is only valid for members with FHA Insurance.
